The 2019 Artisan Home Tour is just around the corner and we can't wait for you to see this stunning lakeside remodel! Located in Wayzata, Minnesota, this 1940s home sits on the shores of Lafayette Bay. With modern touches added to enhance the original architecture of the home, this whole house renovation is a sight to see!

When purchasing this home, the owners knew the floor plan was in need of a redesign. The goal was to create a functional layout that fully captures the beautiful views of Lafayette Bay while staying true to the original French Colonial and Colonial Georgian architecture. To do so, our team totally reconfigured all three floors of the home. We removed structural walls and replaced them with steel beams to improve the layout. We also altered the roofline of the master bedroom, as well as strategically moved and enlarged the existing windows for better sightlines to the lake.

Next, we got to work adding subtle modern twists to balance the original aesthetic of the home. To start, the original oak floors were refinished. Then we updated the lighting, cabinetry, and millwork. The thoughtful and sophisticated design of this home work in perfect harmony to complement its original 1940s charm. Combined with the magnificent views of Lafayette Bay, this whole home renovation is truly magnificent!
